No — rice is one of the most persistent myths in phone repair and can make things worse. It doesn't draw moisture out of sealed electronics, and rice dust and fragments can push into charging ports and speakers, adding debris we then have to clean out. Power the phone off, pat it dry, and get it to us as fast as possible.
The critical window is the first 24–48 hours. Corrosion begins on the logic board as soon as moisture reaches it, and accelerates once the phone is powered on while wet. Phones brought in within a couple of hours of exposure have the highest success rate; success drops sharply after 48 hours.
Our assessment fee starts from $49.99 NZD and includes chemical cleaning of the logic board to prevent rust and corrosion. If components need replacing (charging port, speaker, battery, display), those parts are quoted separately and no further work starts without your approval.

No. Apple's standard warranty explicitly excludes liquid damage, and every iPhone has internal liquid contact indicators (small stickers that turn red when wet) which Apple checks before approving any warranty claim.
