Device Damage Assessment & Insurance Reports

Filing a claim for a damaged device? iRepair provides detailed insurance assessment reports for all major NZ insurance companies from $89.99. Most insurers reimburse the cost of the report.

What's Included in the Report

Within the report, we include your information, device information, the issues with the device, cost and timeframe to repair (if possible), or why the device cannot be repaired, along with photos showing any physical damage.

We cover liquid damage assessment, diagnostic assessment for unknown faults, no power issues, and logic board faults — including testing and checking the device to determine the cause of the problem.

Device Insurance Reports in Auckland — Common Questions

An insurance assessment report is a written diagnostic from a qualified repairer that documents a device's faults, confirms whether the damage matches the claimed incident, and provides a repair cost or replacement recommendation. Insurers use it to decide how to settle the claim.

We charge a small flat fee for the report itself, which is credited back against the repair cost if the insurer approves the repair with us. Call 09 820 9147 or drop in for the current fee — most customers recover it through the claim itself.

Most reports are ready within 24 to 48 hours of drop-off. Complex cases like water damage or logic board faults may need an extra day so we can run full diagnostics. We'll give you an ETA when you leave the device.

We've produced reports for claims through AMI, State, Tower, AA Insurance, Vero, Cove, and every major New Zealand device-insurance provider. Our report format is accepted by all of them — no specific insurer relationship is required.

Yes — if the insurer approves the repair, we can complete the work directly and invoice the insurer or the policyholder depending on how your claim is structured. If the insurer elects to replace the device, we can still help you set up the replacement.

Device make, model, serial/IMEI, physical condition photos, diagnostic results, fault description, cause assessment (matched to the claimed event), itemised repair cost, and a recommendation on repair versus replacement. Everything an assessor needs to process the claim.
